Reporting a problem

For any problem other than email not working, send email to labstaff@cs.no_spam.rpi.edu.
  • Please use a concise and meaningful subject, as it becomes the title of the ticket.
  • It is best to send the email from your CS account so that you can check back on your ticket status at any time.
  • Save the auto-reply from your ticket and reply to it to keep all of the correspondence together, and it contains the url for viewing your tickets.
  • If something major is out that affects multiple users (like networking for a whole building, one of the web or file servers, etc.), you can put EMERGENCY as the first word of the subject, and labstaff will be paged when you submit the ticket. Please use this feature sparingly, and not when you simply forgot to ask for something until the last minute.

If email is down during business hours, please check with one of the staff members to see if the problem has already been reported, and have them give us a call if it hasn't.
